Introduction
At FACECO, we pride ourselves on offering holistic and effective skincare solutions—from our renowned buccal massage to fully personalized skincare routines. With over 1,000 satisfied clients across California and beyond, we understand the importance of comprehensive skin protection.
One of the most critical—and often underestimated—aspects of skincare is daily sunscreen use. Below, I’m sharing expert dermatologist-approved tips to help keep your skin healthy, protected, and radiant.

Why Sunscreen Is Non-Negotiable
Sunscreen is your first line of defense against harmful UV rays. These rays are responsible for premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and increased risk of skin cancer.
Regardless of the weather or your skin type, sunscreen should be worn every single day. UV rays penetrate clouds and even windows, meaning your skin is exposed on overcast days and indoors as well.
Choosing the Right Sunscreen
When selecting a sunscreen, pay attention to the following key factors:
Broad-Spectrum Protection
Choose a sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
- UVA rays contribute to premature aging
- UVB rays cause sunburns
Both types increase the risk of skin cancer.
SPF 30 or Higher
An SPF of 30 blocks approximately 97% of UVB rays. Higher SPFs provide slightly more protection, but no sunscreen blocks 100% of UV radiation.
Water Resistance
If you’re swimming or sweating, opt for a water-resistant sunscreen and reapply every two hours—or immediately after swimming or excessive perspiration.
Ingredients
For sensitive or reactive skin, mineral sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are often better tolerated and less irritating.

How to Apply Sunscreen Correctly
Apply Generously
Use approximately:
- One shot-glass amount for the body
- A nickel-sized amount for the face
Don’t Forget Key Areas
Commonly missed areas include:
- Ears
- Neck
- Back of the hands
- Tops of the feet
Reapply Regularly
Sunscreen wears off with time and exposure. Reapply every two hours when outdoors and immediately after swimming or sweating.

Make It Part of Your Daily Routine
Apply sunscreen after moisturizer and before makeup to ensure optimal protection.
Beyond Sunscreen: Extra Sun Protection Tips
Sunscreen works best when combined with additional protective habits:
- Wear protective clothing such as long sleeves and wide-brimmed hats
- Use sunglasses to protect the delicate eye area
- Seek shade during peak sun hours (10 AM – 4 PM)
- Be mindful of reflective surfaces like water, sand, and snow, which intensify UV exposure
FACECO’s Commitment to Your Skin Health
At FACECO, our mission is to help you achieve and maintain healthy, glowing skin through holistic and organic methods.
Our signature facial and buccal massage treatments do more than relax you—they actively stimulate skin metabolism and promote faster cell regeneration. As skin cells renew more efficiently, pigmentation and stagnant processes fade more naturally.
Regular facial massage can also strengthen the skin’s resilience to sun exposure, potentially reducing the need for heavy sunscreen layers over time. By supporting your skin’s natural renewal process, massage becomes an essential complement to daily sun protection.
For personalized skincare guidance and treatments, we invite you to visit us at our Costa Mesa or Beverly Hills location and experience the FACECO approach firsthand.
